The smooth PEI side works especially well for prints that require a smooth exterior and is often used in conjunction with a thin layer of adhesive to improve adhesion and avoid damage to the exterior. Do not use sharp tools to remove prints from the slide side, as it may scratch the exterior. The textured PEI side creates a natural adhesion and is perfect for hiding stock lines on the underside, which makes for a more uniform finish.
To keep the plate in top condition, clean the exterior regularly with isopropanol (IPA) to remove residue and grease. If necessary, you can wash the plate with lukewarm water and a soft cloth, but be sure to dry it properly before the next use. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals as these can damage the exterior. Regular cleaning ensures that the board maintains its adhesion and extends its life.

Unlike glass, which requires glue and can be difficult to get prints to detach from, and magnetic flex boards, which often have a shorter durability, PEI boards offer natural adhesion and easy removal when the prints cool.
