Nylon Filament
Nylon (PA6) reinforced with carbon fibre is our strongest filament: a tensile strength of 170 MPa, almost three times PLA's 63 MPa. The material is intended for technical parts that have to handle real loads — tool mounts, machine parts, gears and drone arms. The carbon fibre also gives a matte surface and reduces shrinkage.

Nylon PA6 with carbon fibre
We stock PA6-CF in black, from 280 SEK per kilo. Nylon absorbs moisture from the air and must be dried before printing — the spool arrives vacuum-packed with desiccant, and our guide to drying filament shows you how. The material also needs a hardened nozzle, because carbon fibre wears down brass.

Frequently asked questions about Nylon
Our PA5.2-CF has a tensile strength of 170 MPa versus 63 MPa for PLA, which makes it almost three times as strong. Its elongation at break is 18 % versus 5.2 % for PLA, so the material is also much tougher and takes more before it breaks.
Nylon is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from the air. Damp filament causes popping sounds, stringing and weak prints. Store the spool dry and dry it when needed — see our guide to drying damp filament.
Yes. Carbon fibre is abrasive and quickly wears out a standard brass nozzle. Use hardened steel or equivalent.
Our PA6-CF costs from 280 SEK per kilo for a 1 kg spool including VAT.
