Frequently asked questions about filament
PETG from 115 SEK/kg and PLA from 115 SEK/kg, always incl. VAT. Buy 10 of the same product and get 90 SEK off. Ships within 48 hours with DHL to a pickup point near you.
Filament is the plastic thread that FDM/FFF 3D printers use as their raw material. It is melted in the printer's nozzle and laid down layer by layer until the model is finished. It comes on a spool, usually 1 kg.
Start with PLA. It prints at a low temperature, sticks well to the build plate, does not smell and does not need an enclosed printer.
The vast majority of modern 3D printers use 1.75 mm, which is the diameter we stock. Check your printer's specifications if you are unsure.
Somewhere dry and dark, ideally in a sealed bag with silica gel. Damp filament gives poorer prints – see our guide to drying damp filament.
