ASA Filament
ASA is the material for parts that will live outdoors. It is weather- and UV-resistant and keeps its colour and strength in sun and rain, unlike most other filaments. We stock 5 ASA products in 4 colours, from 190 SEK per kilo.

Which ASA should you choose?
Classic ASA (from 190 SEK) is the choice for signs, sensor housings, and garden and vehicle parts. ASA with carbon fibre (from 299 SEK) adds stiffness and dimensional stability for outdoor parts that also take mechanical loads. ASA has a high elongation at break (25 %), which makes the material tough rather than brittle.

Frequently asked questions about ASA
Choose ASA when the part will be outdoors — it is weather- and UV-resistant in a way ABS is not. ABS, on the other hand, is harder (60 MPa versus 47.1 MPa) and withstands higher temperatures. We have a guide that compares ASA and ABS in detail.
With us, classic ASA costs from 190 SEK per kilo and ASA with carbon fibre from 299 SEK. Prices are for a 1 kg spool including VAT.
ASA likes a warm, draught-free environment and is printed slowly, at 35–70 mm/s and 230–265 °C. An enclosure greatly reduces the risk of warping. Our guide to printing ASA goes through the settings.
