In PLA Pro we blend in modifiers before the filament is extruded, including from France's Arkema, a global manufacturer of specialty materials.

The modifiers make the material tougher, so the part withstands more impact and bending before it breaks. Choose PLA Pro for parts that will be used and need to take a knock.

The raw material in our PLA

Made from Luminy® LX175 by TotalEnergies Corbion

All our PLA filaments, that is PLA, PLA PRO and PLA Silk, are made only from Luminy® LX175. It is a polymer from TotalEnergies Corbion, one of the world's leading producers of bio-based PLA.

LX175 is an odourless PLA grade with high purity and consistent viscosity. The melt stays stable during extrusion, which you notice as a consistent diameter, good adhesion between layers and the same result from one spool to the next.

The raw material is renewable, GMO-free and grown to the Bonsucro standard. At the end of its life, the material is industrially compostable to EN 13432, certified by TÜV Austria.
